How to Get a Quote
Motorcycle policy and we provide motorcycle insurance from Progressive and Safeco Insurance.
To get started with your quote our agents will need some basic information:
- Name and date of birth of anyone who will be riding the motorcycle on a regular basis
- Driving history – let your agent know of any tickets or accidents in the past three years. This will help make the quote more accurate.
- Vehicles – we will need the year make model of the motorcycle. If you have the VIN it will help, but it is not necessary for a quote. We will need the VIN before finalizing the policy.
- Address – we need both the mailing address and the garage address (if different).
- Discounts – tell your agent if you have taken any rider safety course lately. If you have the motorcycle endorsement on your drivers license, it is worth a discount.
If you are not sure of or do not have some of this information, you might still be able to get a quote, but it will not be as accurate without all of the information listed above. To get started you can speak with one of our agents by phone or quote yourself by using the quote tab above.
Motorcycle Insurance Coverages
Liability: Just like in your auto insurance policy this covers the bodily injury and property damage (BI/PD) you cause to others. Texas requires you have a minimum of $30,000 in BI per person, $60,000 per accident and $25,000 in PD. Even though Texas only requires 30/60/25 it’s a good idea to increase your limits so you don’t end up having to pay anything out of your own pocket in the even t of an at fault accident.
Uninsured Motorist / Under Insured Motorist: If you are hit by a driver who flees the scene of the accident or does not have insurance UM steps in and pays for your damages in place of the at fault drivers absent liability coverage.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP): you and your passengers are covered up to the policy limit you select for medical expenses arising from a covered accident.
Comprehensive and Collision: collision covers damage to your motorcycle caused by an accident. Comprehensive (other than collision) covers physical damage to your vehicle that is caused by something other than a collision. If you bike is damaged by a hail storm, a tree falling on it or if it is stolen, comprehensive will cover you.
Roadside Assistance / towing and labor: depending on what insurance company you are with they will either have a roadside assistance program to send a tow or a reimbursement for the tow that you got on your own.
Accessory Coverage: Covers aftermarket parts you have added to your motorcycle. with Progressive $3000 is already included with comp and collision.
